Background

With more than 25 years of experience, Dr. Tony Ho has been a well-recognised and respected figure in the Singapore ophthalmology and refractive surgery field. He is an elected Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the Royal College of Ophthalmology U.K., and also an honoured recipient of the prestigious Singapore Public Service Commission Local Merit Scholarship. Being a double recipient of the Ministry of Health (MOH)’s Higher Manpower Development Plan (HMDP) scholarships, Dr Ho also received specialist training in Singapore itself.

Following this, Dr. Ho went on to receive higher specialist training in three top centres around the world: namely the Tennant Eye Institute of Glasgow, Scotland, the Moorfield Eye Hospital of London UK. and the renowned Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in the U.S., voted the No. 1 eye centre in the whole of the United States.

In 1990, Dr. Ho published landmark scientific papers on laser iridotomy for glaucoma management. At present, his method of YAG iridotomy is now widely used by many doctors around the world as the gold standard for iridotomy procedures in dark brown irises. He also authored three books on eye care. The Complete Eye Care Book which won the Singapore National Book Council Merit Award in 1994. His second book 18 Steps to Myopia Control received a 5-star review on Amazon.com.

In 1993, Dr. Ho established Eye Care Clinic at Mount Elizabeth Medical Centre (Orchard Road) as a one stop destination for all eye care needs. The clinic has now expanded to include two other doctors, and treats patients with eye diseases such as glaucoma, cataracts, retina tears and more, and also helps to control myopia progression in children through Atropine Eye Drops therapy.

In 2001, he founded Clearvision Eye Clinic & LASIK Centre to help his patients see clearly, safely through safe, laser vision correction procedures. At present, he is the main ophthalmologist at Clearvision Eye Clinic & LASIK Centre, a leading laser vision correction centre which specialises in the all laser, one-step, no touch SafeSight TransPRK procedure.
