He received his MBBS degree from the National University of Singapore in 2006, followed by comprehensive General Surgery training and advanced specialised Neurosurgery training at the National University Hospital. He was awarded the Academic Medicine Development Award in 2013, for which he underwent further training in functional neurosurgery, neuro-oncology, neurovascular, and spinal surgery at Queen’s Hospital, Romford, London. He was elected to the Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (Surgical Neurology) in 2015. He subsequently underwent fellowship training in brain mapping and awake brain
surgery with Prof. Lorenzo Bello at Humanitas Research Hospital, Milan, Italy and Prof Hugues Duffau at Gui De Chauliac Hospital, Montpellier, France.

PROFESSIONAL EXCELLENCE AND EXPERTISE
In 2010, Dr Teo was elected to the Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and the Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (Surgical Neurology) in 2015. Dr Teo is also currently an international member of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons as well as the European Association of Neurosurgical Societies. Locally, he is a board member of the Chapter of Neurosurgeons and a member of the Singapore Spine Society.

CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE FIELD
Dr Teo has played vital roles in various prestigious neurosurgical conferences in Singapore, assuming executive committee positions for events such as the Skull Base, Pituitary Tumour and Head Injury conferences. Notably, he is also one of the founding members and committee members of the Asian Low-Grade Glioma Network. He has also chaired several conferences on gliomas, providing valuable insights into the latest advancements in molecular and clinical aspects of the field. In addition, he regularly chairs the annual White Matter Dissection course held locally.

CLINICAL EXPERTISE AND SPECIAL INTERESTS
With a deep-rooted passion for enhancing patient care, Dr Teo specialises in neuro-oncology (brain and spinal tumours), neurovascular and skull base surgery. In addition, he treats conditions such as traumatic head injuries, intracerebral aneurysms, degenerative spine conditions (including neck and back pain), ischemic and haemorrhagic stroke, hydrocephalus, trigeminal neuralgia and hemifacial spasm.

DEDICATION TO EDUCATION
Dr Teo actively contributes to the education and nurturing of aspiring medical professionals. He is significantly involved in the undergraduate education of medical students at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. He is an appointed examiner in the Final Professional Examination for the Degrees of M.B.B.S. at the National University of Singapore. He was a core faculty for the NUHS Transitional Year Residency Program for General Surgery and Programme Director for the Surgery-In-General Residency Programme at NUH. Furthermore, his commitment to education is evident through his role as a dedicated teaching faculty member of the NUHS Neurosurgery Residency Programme. Dr Teo was also previously an examiner for the Intercollegiate FRCS Neurosurgery Preparatory Course and the local Neurosurgery Exit Exam.
