He graduated from National University of Singapore in 1986. He trained in the Department of Neurology, Tan Tock Seng Hospital and National Neuroscience institute. He became a member of the Royal College of Physicians (London) in 1991. He completed a Fellowship in the Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Centre, New York in 1994.

He is experience in the use of Botox for Movement Disorders. He performs nerve conduction studies, EMG and EEG.
