Dr Ong Joo Haw is a Sports Medicine Specialist at Orthopaedics International. He was Director and Senior Consultant at the KTPH Sports and Medicine Centre. He manages the spectrum of recreational sports people to elite athletes across age groups and sporting disciplines, with a wealth of experience in the management of both acute injuries and chronic degenerative conditions. He has special clinical interest in interventional ultrasound guided to aid individuals return to activity through non-surgical means. 

He graduated from Faculty of Medicine, NUS and has obtained Masters of Medicine in Family Medicine. He is also a Member of the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh and is a Fellow of the Academy of Medicine, Section of Sports Physicians. He has post graduate qualifications in Occupational Medicine and is a Designated Workplace Doctor of MOM. In 2015, he was awarded a Double Fellowship from MOH in MSK Ultrasound Guided Interventions and High-Performance Sports Medicine at the London Independent Hospital and Australian Institute of Sports. 

Dr Ong has published in multiple peer-reviewed medical journals and oversees research activities at the level of various institutional review boards. He is also invited faculty to various local and overseas conferences and courses, particularly in the area of musculoskeletal ultrasound. He is involved in both under and post graduate teaching, notably serving on the sports medicine advanced specialty training committee, as program director of AACES musculoskeletal ultrasound course and as site directors for various residency programs. 

As an elite athlete, he is an accomplished competitive powerlifter, having won top lifter awards at national level competitions and holding multiple national records. He also trains in long distance running and cycling with the long term aim of achieving excellence in the strength and endurance domains of fitness.
