Background

Dr Mohamad Rosman is a Senior Consultant Ophthalmologist at the Advanced Eye Clinic and Surgery, Mount Elizabeth Medical Center. He is also a visiting senior consultant to the Singapore National Eye Centre. He was the Head of Department for Refractive Surgery at the Singapore National Eye Centre from 2014 to 2023. He was also a Clinical Associate Professor at the Graduate School of Medicine, Duke-NUS. He was also a Senior Clinical Lecturer for the NUS YLL School of Medicine and was an adjunct Senior Clinician Investigator at the Singapore Eye Research Institute. He was also the Clinical Director for Private Services at the Singapore National Eye Centre and Head of Optometry Department from 2011 to 2018. Dr Rosman was heavily involved in teaching and was one of the Core Faculty for resident training at the Singapore National Eye Centre and he was in charge of cataract surgery training, LASIK and all other types of refractive surgery training. In addition, he was the Chairman of the SNEC Medical Devices Committee which evaluates new cataract surgery technologies.

Dr Rosman has written book chapters and clinical papers on Refractive Surgery and actively participates in regional and international conferences. He is regularly invited to give talks on cataract and refractive surgery at regional and international conferences. He was the co-organising Chairman for the Asia Pacific Association of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons Conference in 2021 and has organised or participated in many cataract and refractive surgery masterclasses and courses.

Dr Rosman also holds several national appointments. He is a member and is currently the Treasurer for the Council of Ophthalmology, Academy of Medicine. He was the Chairman for the Refractive Subspeciality Work Group for the College of Ophthalmologists from 2016 to 2022 and is current a member of the Work Group. He was also a member of the National Medical Ethics Committee from 2013 to 2016
