Dr. Matthew Yeo

Dr Matthew Yeo graduated from the National University of Singapore in 2002 and completed Advanced Specialty Training in plastic surgery in 2012.  He was awarded the Gold Medal (Plastic Surgery) for performance at the national plastic surgery board examinations, and received the Health Manpower Development Program award from the Ministry of Health in 2013.  He completed a one-year fellowship in Advanced Reconstructive Microsurgery in Taiwan ROC.  In 2015, he successfully completed the European Board of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery board examinations and was conferred Fellow.  He has since undergone multiple aesthetic surgery fellowships with some of the biggest international names in plastic surgery.  Dr Yeo’s clinical interests include reconstructive surgery of the breast, limb salvage and reconstructive surgery, and reconstruction of the head and neck.  His aesthetic surgery interests include facial rejuvenation surgery and breast and body contouring.

He holds various appointments, including Adjunct Associate Professor with the Nanyang Technological University, and is an Associate Editor of various well-referenced journals, including Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, and Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Global Open.  He was inducted into the reviewer Hall of Fame for Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Global Open in Oct 2023.  Dr Yeo is the past President of the Singapore Association of Plastic Surgeons, past chairman of the Chapter of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons, College of Surgeons, and the national secretary (Singapore) for the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons.

Reconstructive surgery of the breast, extremity salvage and reconstruction, and reconstruction of the head and neck

Lymphedema surgery, including free vascularized lymph node transfers and lymphaticovenular anastomoses

Craniomaxillofacial fracture fixation, including minimally invasive techniques

Aesthetic surgery of the face, including the eyebrows, upper and lower eyelids, midface, nose, lower face and neck

Aesthetic surgery of the breasts, including breast reduction, breast lift and breast augmentation

Aesthetic surgery of the body, including abdominoplasty and liposuction, and also post-massive weight loss body contouring

Dr Yeo has pioneered several surgeries, including

1. Chest wall reconstruction using rib autologous plating techniques
2. Intestinal free flap transfers for reconstruction of the pharynx
3. Omental free flap transfers for reconstruction of the scalp and for lymphedema treatment
4. Vascularized lymph node transfer for treatment of lymphedema, and resective procedures for elephantiasis
5. Post-massive weight loss body contouring procedures, including MY brachioplasty technique
