Background | Dr Koh Wei Howe is a Rheumatologist and Physician who practices at the Mount Elizabeth Medical Centre, Singapore. After completing his undergraduate medical training at the National University of Singapore in 1985 and graduating with MBBS, he received his post-graduate degree, MRCP(United Kingdom) at Glasgow in 1990. He then pursued advanced medical training in Rheumatology at Tan Tock Seng Hospital,Singapore which culminated in 1993 when he was awarded the HMDP scholarship by the Ministry of Health to train in Bath, United Kingdom under the supervision of Dr Andrei Calin at the Royal National Hospital for Rheumatic Disease as well as Dr Neil McHugh at the laboratory in the Bath Institute for Rheumatic Disease. Promoted to Consultant in 1996, Dr Koh spearheaded the Spondyloarthropathy Intensive Management Programme in Tan Tock Seng Hospital. He has published widely in local and international peer-reviewed journals and he was formerly on the Editorial Board of the APLAR Journal of Rheumatology. He has written book chapters and published a book “Rheumatoid Arthritis – A Guide Book for Patients”. He is the Ex-President of the Rheumatoid Arthritis Society, Singapore and Medical Advisor of the Singapore Ankylosing Spondylitis Club. He commenced his private practice at Mount Elizabeth Medical Centre in 1998. He was a member of the Medical Board of the Mount Elizabeth Hospital and the previous Chairman of the hospital’s Therapeutic and Infection Committee. |
