Background | Dr. Ho Kok Sen is an Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon at Specialist Dental Group®. He obtained his dental and specialty training in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery from the National University of Singapore. He was also awarded the Lee Kuan Yew Gold Medal for being the best overall graduating student in his dental class. Dr. Ho is a fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons and the Academy of Medicine Singapore. He is a Clinical Tutor at the National University of Singapore where he is involved in the teaching of undergraduates and postgraduates. In addition, Dr. Ho is mentor, lecturer and examiner to students in the Graduate Diploma in Dental Implantology course at the National University of Singapore. Dr. Ho received extensive training in dental implantology, orthognathic (jaw) surgery, maxillofacial trauma and dentoalveolar surgery during his basic and advanced specialty training. He has lectured at conferences, published articles in professional journals and has conducted hands-on and observational courses for dentists in Singapore, Thailand, Hong Kong, India and Indonesia. His current research interest involves the use of bio-resorbable scaffolds for ridge preservation prior to implant placement. For his efforts during the SARS crisis, Dr. Ho was awarded the Medal of Commendation by the President of the Republic of Singapore at the 2003 National Day Awards. Dr. Ho has a special interest in dental implants, jaw surgery, bone grafting and complex extractions. |
