He graduated from National University of Singapore (NUS) in 1987 and attained his surgical Fellowships in Royal College of Edinburgh and Royal College of Glasgow in 1992. In the same year, he attained his Master of Medicine in Surgery (NUS). During this period, he trained under two esteemed Professors of Surgery, Professor Abu Rauff and Professor Rajmohan Nambiar. During his time there, Dr Lim had the opportunity to hone his skills under Drs. Jatin Shah, Elliot Strong, Ronald Spiro and Ashok Shaha, who are all renowned specialists in the field of head and neck surgery. Prior to establishing his private practice in Mt Elizabeth Hospital, Dr Lim was formerly Consultant Surgical Oncologist and General Surgeon in National Cancer Centre and Singapore General Hospital respectively.
