Background

Dr. Ang Peng Chye is a Consultant Psychiatrist at The Psychiatric and Behavioural Medicine Clinic, and founder and Behavioural Science Consultant with the Centre for Effective Living. He graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (M.B. B.S) degree at the University of Singapore in 1978. After his National Service, he trained at the Royal Free Hospital Rotation in Psychiatry.

In 1985, he become a member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists, United Kingdom. He was a lecturer at the Department of Psychological Medicine at the National University of Singapore for two years before leaving for private practice in 1987. His keen professional interests lie in psychosomatic medicine, stress research, and psychogeriatrics.

At the organisational level, he has been consultant to many corporations and institutions on managing stress, managing transitions and developing models for effective cross-cultural awareness. He is an active advocate in community work. Presently, he is President of the Alzheimer’s Disease Association.
